The site will be available only to teachers and administrators at participating schools.
The site will NOT be available to students or parents. Teachers at participating schools should download the lessons and share them with students and/or parents. They should NOT give students or parents the log-in information to the site or allow them to access the site directly.
The site will be divided into separate sections for each level of the Montessori curriculum: Infant/Toddler, Early Childhood/Primary, Elementary (Lower and Upper), and Adolescent.
All materials should be consistent with Montessori principles and practices.
Materials on the site can include, but are not limited to, the following: videos of a teachers presenting lessons, videos of teachers or volunteers reading stories, downloadable templates for Montessori materials, or directions for activities children can do at home, such as scavenger hunts, science experiments, etc.
Schools should make every effort to ensure that materials uploaded to the site reflect the Montessori commitment to diversity and inclusion.
To use the online site, participating schools must start by uploading at least 5 lessons at each level they want to access. Until these lessons have been uploaded, teachers at the school will not be able to use lessons that other schools have uploaded.
After the first 5 lessons have been uploaded, each school must upload 10 additional lessons per semester at each level they use.
Each lesson in the site should be identified by an easily understandable name and description and by the name of the school that uploaded it.
Video lessons, stories, etc. should focus on the adult presenting the material. Children’s faces should not be visible.
The site will be created and managed for the benefit of all participating schools by Knoxville Friends of Montessori, with support from staff at the Knoxville Montessori School and Montessori Internationale School.
Questions or conflicts regarding the management of the site or the use of shared lessons from the site will be adjudicated by a committee made up of the heads of the participating schools and the East Tennessee members of the Montessori Alliance Education Committee.
